A Dragon Size Sponsorship Opportunity

Bristol Empire Dragon’s is Bristol’s only Dragon Boat Racing Team and we race in the Premier League of the British Dragon Boat Racing League.

We also provide access to this sport and provide training to, Scout’s, Charity Teams entering the Charity Dragon Boat events that you may have seen or entered, access for breast cancer survivor’s and to any group or individual just wanting to try it out and maybe take it further and join the team.

As a fairly new club established from a Charity crew 10 years ago we have progressed through the BDA leagues to become a formidable team in the Premier league.

Our aim is to be not just the top club in the UK, followed by Europe and eventually a World Champion Club Team but also to be able to provide access to all for a means of enjoyment and fitness. To do this means that we first need to get at least one lightweight boat and trailer which the successful teams have obtained through grants and sponsors. The lightweight boats these teams have are taken to race events around the country whilst we get to use the “pool” boats which are older and heavier. Whilst we still do well we can’t compete to our potential over the course of a race event using the heavier boats. Having the best equipment will also attract more new members and open up the access to all – individuals whilst keen are put off by the old heavy boat that we have and the pool boats in which we race so keeping a team together is hard work – yet still we perform well.

Ideally we would like one sponsor to sponsor us for the full cost of a trailer and race boat but as we have found finding one sponsor that is prepared to invest £10,000 on one sport is highly unlikely. We are therefore looking to get as many sponsors as possible to hopefully raise the funds needed. In return we can give the sponsor, depending on the amounts invested, from a link on our website to the whole colour scheme and logo emblazoned along both sides of the 40ft Dragon boat and trailer. Whilst in transit the boat and trailer will be viewed by many and similarly at events around the country the company will get a lot of exposure, especially from a successful team like ours.

By having a trailer and a boat that we can transport, will also give us the opportunity to get out into the community and give a taste of Dragon Boating to more individuals and groups of all ages and abilities as well as promoting sponsors at events and at shopping centres like the Mall, schools and sports clubs where we will aim to recruit new members.

Smaller sums of investment can range from a website link, through to shirt sponsorship or logos on shirts and clothing similar to that of Formula 1 racing sponsors.
